Salford Community Sport offers a range of sessions and classes specialised for young people and adults with a disability or learning difficulty.
Everybody Dance Now sessions combine movement and dance based activities to music to encourage agility, balance and co-ordination. Using simple dance routines along with equipment including ribbons, scarves, pom poms and parachutes. The fun routines and activities are designed so that everyone can join in and have a good time. This class is suitable for everyone including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Carers stay at the community sessions and are encourages to join in with the classes if they want to!
For adults, the Everybody Dance Now sessions are available at The Valley Community Centre on Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and at the Beesley Green Community Centre on Thursdays from 12.45pm to 1.45pm. Sessions are priced at just £2.50 each.
For children with a disability, dance classes are offered at The Rainbow Rooms Community Centre on Wednesdays from 5.00pm to 6.00pm during term time, and are priced at just £2.00 per session.
The Helly Hanson Watersports Centre provides watersports and outdoor activities that are accessible to people with disabilities, together with their friends and families.
Activities on offer include, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, bell boating, indoor climbing and abseiling. All specialist safety equipment is provided by the centre.
